Welcome to Delia School of Canada
It is with much excitement that I assume the role of Deputy Principal of Delia School of Canada. I am very proud to head a school that offers a comprehensive program that begins at Pre-Grade 1 and continues through to graduation from Secondary School at the end of Grade 12. By offering the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, Ontario, Canada, Delia School of Canada provides students the opportunity to develop in all academic areas including digital literacy. With an added focus on improving learning skills and work habits, students gain skills needed for success not only in elementary and secondary school, but also in post-secondary education and in the work place.
At Delia School of Canada we take pride in our multicultural learning environment. Through daily interaction with students from around the world both in the classroom and through co-curricular involvement, students develop an awareness of and appreciation for the global world and establish their roles as global citizens. Learning and working together, we better understand one another and grow as a result. Delia School of Canada welcomes students from throughout the world and, where needed, provides an excellent English as a Second Language program to assist students in developing their English skills to the level required for success in meeting curriculum expectations.
Families both in and relocating to Hong Kong are invited to visit our School to learn more about our programs and what we can offer your children. If you are interested in a tour of our campus, please contact the Offices by telephone or email –

In taking on a new role, I draw on my experiences in education to date. I have taught in both elementary and secondary schools and have held a variety of administrative positions. Before returning to Delia School of Canada in August 2007, I was with the Durham District School Board in Whitby, Ontario where I worked on a number of Ontario provincial initiatives including literacy and numeracy, and Student Success/Learning to 18 in addition to school-based initiatives focusing on assessment for learning, and integrating technology into the curriculum from September 2003 until July 2007. Prior to this I spent nine years in international education overseas, seven of which were with the Secondary Section of Delia School of Canada and two in El Salvador, Central America. The first nine years of my teaching career were in Ontario, Canada where I began teaching after completing undergraduate and graduate work at Carleton University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Western Ontario.
During my career, I have witnessed many changes not only in the world we live in, but in how we educate our children. Our children require skills such as problem-solving; gathering, interpreting and understanding information; evaluating and applying information; and effective communication. Providing our children with a variety of experiences both inside and outside the classroom and with opportunities to learn by doing through multiple ways and multiple chances under the guidance of skillful teachers, our children will develop to the best of their abilities. I am proud to say this is what we do at Delia School of Canada.
