Payment and Refund Policy
Payment and Refund Policy for the 2011-2012 School Year
Tuition Fee
- The annual tuition fee is paid on a monthly basis. This fee can be paid in cash, EPS, or cheque at the school office. The school encourages all families to use the autopay facilities of a Hong Kong major bank.
- Families will be contacted if payment of tuition is not made. A family that falls more than two months behind on payments may be asked to leave the school.
- Academic documents will be withheld until all accounts are settled.
- A student entering in the middle of a month must pay the fees for the entire month.
- Families must give one month’s notice prior to withdrawing or pay one month’s fees in lieu of notice.
Textbooks
- Parents/Guardians who wish to purchase the textbooks may do so at the school office, from past students or other sources.
- The sale of textbooks is an optional program provided as a service to families who wish to have their own personal set of textbooks.
- Complete book lists are available at the office.
- Complete book lists with ISBN numbers are available upon request.
- Once purchased and used by the students, textbooks cannot be returned. Textbooks may be returned to the office for refund within 7 days if the books have not been damaged or marked.
Novels, Workbooks and Consumables
- All students are required to purchase required novels, workbooks and listed consumables before the first day of classes.
- A list of required novels, workbooks and listed consumables, with ISBN numbers, will be distributed to all students and is available upon request at the office.
- Once purchased and used by the students, novels, workbooks and listed consumables cannot be returned. Items may be returned to the office for refund within 7 days if the books have not been damaged or marked.
Textbook Deposit
- The school provides textbooks to all students in grade 1 to grade 12.
- A compulsory deposit of $1000 is required.
- The deposit is refundable when a student withdraws from the school and returns the textbooks in good condition.
- Students will be responsible for keeping the loaned textbook neat and tidy. Students must not write on any pages or mark any part of the textbook.
- The cost of damaged or lost textbooks will be paid by parents/guardians or deducted from the deposit.
Laptop Deposit (Grades 9 to 12)
- The school operates an optional Laptop Loan program for all students enrolled in grade 9 to grade 12. Students wishing to join the laptop loan program must sign an Acceptable Use Policy and Laptop Loan Agreement.
- Students will be responsible for keeping the loaned laptop safe and secure. Students must follow the guidelines and rules laid out in the Acceptable Use Policy and Laptop Loan Agreement.
- The cost of damaged or lost laptops will be paid by parents/guardians.
- A compulsory deposit of $2000 is required.
- The deposit is refundable when a student withdraws from the school and returns the laptop to the IT Department in good condition.
Computer Technology User Fee (Grades 9 to 12)
- All students enrolled in grades 9 to 12 are required to pay an annual Computer Technology User Fee of $500.00.
- This fee cannot be prorated.
- This fee is non‐refundable.
School Uniforms
- All students attending Delia School of Canada are required to wear school uniforms.
- There is a uniform for summer months and a uniform for winter months.
- Uniforms may be purchased at the school uniform shop. Payment may be made in cash, EPS or by cheque payable to "YINGFORD ENTERPRISES CO. LTD."
- A complete list of uniform items and prices is available at the school office and the uniform shop.
- Uniforms cannot be returned and the purchase is non‐refundable.
School Bus
- Delia School of Canada runs an optional bus service.
- Students enrolled in pre‐grade 1 to grade 12 are eligible to join the school bus service pending availability of seats on the current routes.
- Parents wishing their children to join the school bus service must forward to the school office by August 15 their address including the number of students to determine bus routes, pick up time, and stop zones. Students joining the school after August 15 are eligible to join the school bus service pending availability of seats on the current routes.
- The fee for the bus service is charged on a monthly basis. Payment may be made at the school office.
- Parents/Guardians must notify the school office two weeks in advance if they want to withdraw from the service.
- Students entering in the middle of a month must pay the fees for the entire month.
- Payments made for the school bus service are non‐refundable once the service is used.
ESL Program (Grades 1 to 8)
- The ESL Program is an optional program provided to assist students in learning and improving their basic English language skills. The aim of the ESL program is to provide instruction for students whose English ability limits them from participating fully in the regular class program.
- All students enrolled in the ESL program will be requested to pay an additional fee of $1800 per month.
Lunch Program
- Delia School of Canada offers an optional lunch program.
- Lunch menus are distributed to students during the week of the month.
- Students must confirm, order, and pay at the school office on or before the due date.
- Lunches will be delivered to classrooms in the Elementary Section. Secondary students pick up their lunch at the office in the Secondary Section.
- This monthly fee is non‐refundable.
After School Programs
- After school programs for students in grades 1‐12 are offered at Delia School of Canada.
- There is a minimum class size of 4 and a maximum of 10.
- The fee may be paid in cash, EPS or by cheque.
- This fee is non‐refundable.
Summer School
- Delia School of Canada offers summer school courses to students from pregrade 1 through grade 12, and to adults.
- A minimum of 7 students is required for each course.
- Brochures outlining all courses offered and fee schedule will be available in the school offices and will be posted on the school web site, www.delia.edu.hk, by June 1st of the current academic year.
- The course fees are non‐refundable and non‐transferable, with the exception of courses that do not meet the minimum enrollment.
Field Trip
- Field trips and other special events enrich the curriculum and provide learning opportunities outside the classroom.
- Field trip costs include entrance fees and transportation.
- This fee is non‐refundable.
Team/House League Uniforms
- Team and House League uniforms are purchased by the members of the team or house league by special order.
- Once ordered, this fee is non‐refundable.
