Welcome Message by the Deputy Principal - Secondary Section

On behalf of Delia School of Canada’s (DSC’s) Secondary Section administration, teachers and staff, I would like to welcome you to our School. We offer a curriculum (Ontario, Canada) that is globally recognized for quality and which concentrates on an innovative set of skills - including advanced problem-solving and digital literacy – which today’s students require for success.  At the same time, our School is well-known for being a supportive and inclusive multicultural environment that has student representation from around the world. Our teaching staff is highly trained and supports the academic and social growth of each and every student.

The Secondary Section consists of our Middle School (Grade 7-8) and High School (Grade 9-12) programs.

Students in our Middle School focus on both academic and social skills necessary to support their growth and development. The Middle School incorporates a House Leagues program to help our students build both a strong sense of community and personal accomplishment through team-work.  Middle School students also take part in an Experiential Learning Week in November to Thailand, Taiwan, Dragonfly Adventure Camp in Hong Kong, or a variety of other excellent learning opportunities.  These programs allow students to enhance 21st century learning competencies while developing their independence and personal growth.

In our High School program, students have the opportunity to choose from a diverse range of courses which are academically challenging and will prepare them for their post-secondary destination.  With the completion of the internationally-recognized and well-respected Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), our students are accepted into, and are eligible to receive scholarships from, universities around the world.  To see a complete list of the many university offers our students receive, please see our School Profile at:

Our High School students can also participate in an experiential learning opportunity with Habitat for Humanity.  This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity in which students build a house for the underprivileged in Guangzhou, China and other possible destinations depending on the year. Students will have an opportunity to learn many new skills, and gain valuable experience through their volunteer effort. In addition, students will gain 40 community involvement hours – the number required for graduation!

In addition to our academic and experiential learning programs, DSC Secondary students have many opportunities to get active and involved in other important aspects of School life.  We have an extensive Extracurricular Activities program which offers students a wide array of clubs and sports teams to choose from.  Our teams compete in the International Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong (ISSFHK).

Regardless of whether you are a current or prospective DSC parent, you can be confident that your child is, or will be, having both an intellectually stimulating learning environment and a motivating social environment in which to develop and thrive.
