ICT Parent Workshops

9 April 2019

Tuesday, April 9th, 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Friday, April 12th, the school will be hosting two ICT Parent Workshops. The workshops will take place in the Auditorium. These workshops are designed to help showcase how educational technology is being used in the classroom, and give parents an opportunity to meet and ask questions of the ICT Educational Specialists. We recommend attending live, however, a live stream will now be provided on the school’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/DSCTKS/) for those unable to attend.

This month’s workshop topics will cover:
Grades 7- 12 -“Social Media- What’s Being Shared and the School and Why it is Important (Secondary)” (2:00 pm - 2:30 pm)

  • Emerging Tech Talk: Virtual Reality
  • Social Media- What is it?
  • How is Social Media being used at Delia to promote student learning
  • Showcase of Student work

Pre-Grades to Grade 6 -“Social Media- What’s Being Shared and the School and Why it is Important (Elementary)” (2:30 pm - 3:00 pm)

  • How are we using Social Media as a school?
  • How are we teaching our students responsible Social Media skills?
  • How can you get involved at home?

We hope to see you in attendance.

Sincerely,

John Hendrickse                                            James Waller
